Help People Build a Stronger Future

Habitat Kent is a year-round building program. We have multiple volunteer opportunities most days of the week between our construction sites, ReStore, and community events.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Habitat for Humanity of Kent County. With the commitment of people like you, over 400 local families have realized the dream of affordable homeownership. Making a difference starts right here.

Types of Opportunities:

Construction - A year-round building program. No experience or skills needed to work at our construction site. Typically, our construction sites are open Tuesdays - Fridays with the addition of about 2 Saturdays a month. Minimum age is 16 years old to participate with a chaperone present. We limit the size of volunteer groups to 12 people per shift.

ReStore - Retail with a Mission: Shifts are 2-4 hours in length Mondays – Saturdays. Activities include receiving and sorting donations, organizing merchandise shelves, cleaning, testing donations, and more. Minimum age is 14 years old to participate with a chaperone present. We limit the size of volunteer groups to 15 people per shift.

Event Support - Partner with our Neighborhood Engagement team as we host community events and programs in the neighborhoods we serve. Events are usually Saturdays from 10 am to 6 pm with a shift option of 2-4 hours in length. Activities include event set up & tear down, hosting an activity, helping guests with wayfinding, etc. We limit the size of volunteer groups to 10 people per shift.

Bringing people together is what we’re all about. Gather up your group and spend a day working hard and building a brighter future for a local family in need of safe, stable, and affordable housing.
