Nefeg and Oscar’s long-time dream was to have a safe and stable place to raise their two sons. When they learned about Habitat Kent through a coworker, they realized that their dream could become a reality. 

Their determination to make this happen shone through as they worked hard to complete our Homeownership Program. Now, they’ve finished the program and are ready to move in before the holidays. 

Earlier this week, they celebrated the accomplishment with their family at their open house. Everyone came together to enjoy refreshments, tour the new space, and give their congratulations. The next day, Nefeg and Oscar officially closed on their home. They started moving in on the same day and hosted their family for a meal that night. 

Their home will be filled with loved ones again soon when they throw a big Christmas party, but for now, they’re eager to settle in and start bringing their decorative visions to life. They also look forward to growing their own food in their spacious yard come spring, and most of all, to creating a safe environment for their children.
